Anne’s Plan | Inclusion
Ensuring Quincy is a place where all can thrive
The Quincy of today looks much different than the Quincy of 20 years ago. Ensuring all people feel welcome and proud to raise their family, open a business, or play in our City will always be a priority of mine.
Anne was one of the original founders of Quincy Pride and QPride Day.
As Mayor I will:
Update governmental policies and procedures to ensure our city services and amenities are accessible and inclusive for all, including expanding the existing Office of Diversity and increasing diversity in our hiring policies and practices.
Increase language access across city services to ensure every resident knows how to access the resources available to them.
Advocate for our AAPI residents by investing more resources in our community centers, bolstering protections against hate crimes, ensuring city celebrations feel safe and welcoming, and ensuring our city institutions and events are inclusive.
Support our LGBTQIA+ community by centering inclusivity in city operations and events, expanding services and housing for LGBTQIA+ elders in our community, and providing mental health resources to our LGBTQIA+ youth.
Increase women’s leadership in our city through mentorship programs in order to diversify our staff, boards, and commissions.
Support women and minority-owned businesses through our procurement and contracting policies.
Improve access to critical reproductive health services, including family planning services, contraception, and accurate, comprehensive, and age-appropriate sex education for our young people.
Establish a second senior community center offering a range of recreational, educational, and social activities for seniors to ensure those services are accessible to all neighborhoods.
Create a centralized hub for resources for our seniors, including local services, healthcare providers, volunteer opportunities, and support networks.
