Anne’s Plan | Safety

Keeping Quincy a safe place for our families

Engaging with local law enforcement, community leaders, community organizations, and residents is crucial to making our neighborhoods a safe place for all. As City Councilor, I attended public meetings and neighborhood walks regarding resident safety, helped neighbors organize around local incidents, worked with Council colleagues to inform constituents of public safety concerns, and worked with National Grid to restore lighting in areas that had been removed due to road construction.

As Mayor I will:

  • Work collaboratively with our new Police Chief to support initiatives focused on community policing, including ensuring our officers have deep-rooted connections in all corners of our City, facilitating regular opportunities and meetings for QPD (Quincy Police Department) to hear from residents about their concerns, supporting neighborhood watch programs and police-community partnerships, and fostering open communication channels between law enforcement and residents to address concerns.

  • Establish specialized crisis intervention teams and increase partnerships with local mental health organizations to create a more comprehensive response to emergencies involving individuals in distress.

  • Invest in street lighting and signage to improve visibility and reduce nighttime accidents.

  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and nonprofits to establish drug prevention, rehabilitation programs, and more resources to address substance abuse issues.

  • Develop partnerships with community organizations to raise awareness and provide resources for domestic violence prevention.

  • Implement crime mapping and predictive analytics to allocate resources effectively and target high-crime areas.

  • Use technology to improve communication between law enforcement agencies and streamline information sharing.

  • Increase fire safety awareness through public education campaigns, workshops on fire prevention measures, and investment in modern firefighting equipment, training, and resources to ensure rapid response to emergencies.
